all dat glitters is not gold!!!!!!

Finally the sensex has touched the 15k mark.N the ITES sector played an inevitable role in that. But lemme tel u.Being a fresher just out of an engg college,a lot of wild guesses has been haunting me for the past few days.To start with I would like to point upon the drastic change undergone in the campus placement scenarios in colleges all over india.N to add to that almost 80% of the students are taken into the ITES sector, that too when there's almost more than a year to complete their course.

Rather than discussing the students point of view on it,i would like to point upon the fact that a very few students are interested or rather absorbed into the manufacturing and other diversified sectors. Now according to our presidents' views ours will b a developed economy by the year 2020.May b everyone thinks so seeing the present exchange rates, inflation rates n other stuffs like sensex.

Research has shown that the average age in a manufacturing firm in india is around 45.So that means those are the guys who were into the industry may b around 25 years back.N the fact is during those days people rarely deviate from their core branch of studies even after they are into work. But just think of the present sitaution.Irrespective of the college or the stream students are taken in bulk lots into software companies just based on their communicative and offcourse basic computing skills.

There are several reasons for such a drastic change. As u all know the low cost of labour n all the other factors hav helped grow these lucrative business in india. But just think of a sitaution when there's nobody to work with these manufacturing sector??At the present pace what i feel is gradually the manufacturing sector is gonna die burdening the entire import bill on the software sector.

But how far....???Jus like these arab nations r gainin from the petroleum industry,we can never expect software products and the out sourcing industry to cover up the bills.Dat too with the second fastest growing economy in the world, the dollar xchange rates r running low day by day.

So lemme hav a wild funny guess.Jus think that we r living in the year 2050 n there are no more manufacturing industry in our country.May be some scraps, but no production.Suppose we gotta buy a new pair of inner wear, jus like we customize dell laptops now we we would be customising our wears so that it wud be there at our doorstep the next day.hehehee.N rather than giving emphasis to languages in schools, teachers wud be busy teaching oracle n java or other blah blahs,,,,,lets pray for our future generation not to have such a fate!!!!!!

Am not against any particular industry. But lemme remind u, money is not the only thing that makes the essence of life. There's something more left.....

to b continued.....
